F*** Fabulous

Co-commissioned by the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and Arts Centre Melbourne, Fuck Fabulous, is a response to the saccharine and commercial faux embracing of queerness conditional on its manifestation as something “fabulous”. Dreamt up by Fat Fruit Fuck Fabulous was created by a family of revolutionary queers and allies.

With acts from a family of fierce artists including Sarah Ward (Yana Alana), performance artist Nicci Wilks, circus icon Jess Love, side-show clown Dale Woodbridge-Brown, dance duo Glitter & Snatch, aerial contortionist Seth Sladen, Drag King Koko Ma$$, performance wunderkammer Gabi Barton and drummer Bec Matthews; the show adds up to one single, bold vision of a queer new world. It is proudly anti-glamour, anti-capitalist and body positive.

Replicating the vibe of a dingy underground queer club at 2am, Fuck Fabulous is a 70 minute protest party and celebratory riot, rejoicing in queer visibility and pushing back against the commodification or people as products. 

Fuck Fabulous premiered in Sydney 2020 and had its second season in Melbourne 2021.
